A Komebukuro is a Japanese cotton drawstring bag which was used to carry offerings of rice to Japanese temples or shrines. The word literally means rice (Kome) bag (bukuro).

All sides are approximately 6" square. Each side featuring fabrics in red, white and blue prints including the Union Jack, crowns and gingham sewn together to make patchwork. Fully lined with 100% cotton fabric with a pocket inside and two little loops for you to hang stitch markers or charms on. It closes with a drawstring and has a strap for ease of carrying or hooking over you arm.

Ideal for a knitting or crochet project bag (you can see in the photo(s) that two 100g balls of yarn fit in easily); or for sewing supplies; or make up - whatever takes your fancy!
